Portuguese employment goes down, despite EU’s upward trend
The number of people employed at the EU level (EA19 and EU28) increased by 0.4% in the second quarter of 2018 in comparison to the same quarter last year. In Portugal, it went down by -0.3%.

Lisbon stocks lower mid-morning, PSI20 down 0.25%
The main index of the Lisbon Stock Exchange, the PSI20, was trading down by 0.25% at 5,523.34 points mid-morning on Tuesday after opening up by 0.04%, penalised by Navigator and Galp.

Brussels extends aid to the Portuguese banking system

The European Commission decided to extend the financial aid to the Portuguese banking system up until the 9th of February 2019. The aid scheme consists in giving aid to eligible credit institutions.
